Flightline 2001, bad weather around Europe, only a few made it through.

so no photos.

Flightline 2006
We had a fantastic weather in Höganäs with bright sunshine for three days, almost no wind and temperature around 28-30dgr all three days. 24 RVs with mostly G-XXXXs showed up, 3 RV8s, some RV4s, RV6s but no RV9s or RV7s. There were a couple of first-timers and many builders and builders to be came in various non-RVs.
We had a Forum about the future of Avgas 100LL - there is non! - and what is coming instead, we had a local NavRace, won by David and Sheila Broom in G-RVAN and a Cray-fish party on Friday and a BBQ on Saturday.

Although the weather the weeks before the FlyIn had been terrible with rain that flooded the airfield, three days ahead of THE weekend the sun started shining and drying the airfield. We were hoping for 35 RVs, as a kind of celebration - Vanīs 35 years at Osh.
25 RVs arrived on Friday - one on Wendesday and one on Thursday - and 11 more on Saturday - 36 RVs in all with 11 G-XXXXs, 7 D-XXXXs, 4 OY-XXX, 2 PH-XXX and 12 SE-XXX visited us! The oldest RV outside US, a RV3, SE-XGI was built from the first ever kit Vanīs shipped outside USA, back in 1981, was at Hoganas.
The weather turned out beautiful on all three days with temps in the high 20Cgrades.
Again we had the NavRace, 9RVs flew the 45 min race-course. Winner was G-RVPW owned by Peter Pengilly (?).

Weather the week before the 2008 FlyIn was excellent with sunshine and good VFR weather all over Europe with lots of planning for going to Hoganas and the 14th RV FlyIn. During the FlyIn week the weather deteriorated and lots of low fronts built up. Still 16 RVs arrived, mostly on the Saturday with RVs from England, Holland, France, Germany, Denmark and Sweden. We also had a visitor from US, prop-maker Craig Catto of Catto Propellers, Inc, www.cattoprops.com who came and gave a Forum about his props. We had no NavRace as the winds gave a lot of turbulence at low altitude, instead a WalkAbout the Clubarea with 12 questions about Vanīs, winner was OY-RVI crew.
As usual Vanīs had sent some promotional material which was much appreciated as prices at the WalkAbout.

The weather at the 2009 FlyIn was excellent all weekend with sunshine and temps in the mid 20C. For the first time we used preregistration to get some idea of how many were planning to come. On the Thursday we had 40 preregistered aircraft so planning went on for some 45-50 aircraft. Obviously there were low clouds over the Channel on Friday, stopping some G-XXXs and no German RV appeared during the weekend so total amount were 30 RVs and a few other with builders.
The NavTour was attended by seven RVs, we had no Forum as the temp indoors was unpleasant.
Unfortunately the FlyIn started a bit on the downside as one of the arrivals flipped over in the landing, damaging the aeroplane but both crew were unhurt.
The attendants were presented a small gift, as we have done the last four years from a local pottery; also Vanīs had supplied some T-shirts and hats, as usual.

Since 2005 we have arranged a FlyOut as a local NavRace. Pilots have to calculate their flying time on a prepaired route around western Scania. |
