Construction of my RV6, SE-XMI started November 1988 with Empenage Kit. Work continued intensly during 3,5 years and first testflight was December 1st 1991. So far, June 2009 1008h has been logged.

-XMI is flown regularly throughout the year, when the weather permits. Mostly local flights and a few long cross-country flights visiting FlyIns throughout Europe - PFA Rally in England, RSA Rally in France, French RV Fly-Ins, German RV FlyIns a.o.
My wife and I also used to take the -XMI to south of France for a week or two vacation for a couple of years. With Swedish and European fuel-prices rising skyhigh, long crosscountry flights tend to be too expensive, especially when retired from work.
-XMI has been updated with a few things and some things have been changed due to various reasons. A new three-bladed prop, from Catto Prop, Inc, was installed during 2007, mostly to bring noise down a bit.
An annual RV Meeting is since 1995 organised each year, in early August in south Sweden, at Hoganas Airfield, ESMH to bring as many RVs together as possible from all of Europe. Usually there are some 25-30 RVs showing up each year with attendants growing every year as more and more RVs are being finished.
The Swedish RV FlyIn was the first FlyIn organized especially for RVs, now there are RV FlyIns in France, Germany and England.
Each year two or three RVs are being finished and brought to the skies in Sweden. |
